I think every parent's eyes just rolled.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure there's been a collective understanding that sugar hypes you up. Right? I mean, we've known this since medieval times. We've seen this displayed in children. It's also been a pretty steady excuse for me to hit up the vending machine 3-5 times a week.

Well, we might all be wrong.

A recent study has found that the "sugar rush" is a myth. Researchers at a couple of universities across the pond looked into 31 studies and found that those who ate sugar were actually more tired and less focused. What's worse is that their moods were worse too.

So much for those emotional ice cream binges.

The overall conclusion is that sugar makes you feel worse. There is no pep in your step after eating sugar and you'll most likely feel guilty about indulging in the first place. Or at least I always do.

Of course, this study was done with adults. I'm curious about children. It seems like every kid's birthday party I've been to involved absolute chaos after cake is served.
