Popular East Texas Restaurant Set to Re-Open This Week
Good news for fans of The Ginocchio in Marshall, TX!
As so many of you are undoubtedly, painfully aware, 2020 has been a rough year for some of our favorite locally-owned eateries. Over the course of the last eight months or so, I've written countless articles about said businesses decided to close their doors. The closure articles continue to stack up, but maybe, just maybe, we're on the verge of a comeback.
That's certainly the case for one of my favorite restaurants within driving distance. Yesterday on Facebook, The Ginocchio announced they will officially be re-opening this week, today in fact, December 1st.
The Ginocchio is a favorite in Marshall, TX, where it has been located inside the historic Ginocchio Hotel since 2017. Shreveport has quite the connection with this restaurant. Chef Reynaldo Jandres made his way to the Ginocchio after making quite the name for himself at Shreveport's Village Grill.
Chef Jandres' importance to The Ginocchio is un-matched, as his absence was a main reason the popular restaurant had to close it's doors in the first place. Many of you remember back in March when Texas decided to close it's border to Louisianans, right? Well, Chef Jandres still lives in Louisiana, so as soon as that border shut-down went into place, the Chef could no longer make it to the Ginocchio.
Shortly after, the restaurant announced on Facebook that they would be closing their doors temporarily, citing Chef Jandres' absence and lacking clarity on business operations due to COVID-19.
Now, over eight months later, The Ginocchio is open for business! You can find their exciting announcement below!
Hey Ginocchio fans - "we're back!"
