Local Shreveport Diner Gets National Attention Thanks to Surprise Primus Endorsement
Legendary rock band Primus has dropped their seal of approval on a local Shreveport restaurant. The band's endorsement came as a surprise during the band's recent show at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium. Find out which staple of the SBC got the funky psych rock band's attention.
Primus Honors Hometown Hero, and His Favorite Food
During Primus' second-ever show in Shreveport, the band was celebrating a big night. John "Hoffer" Hoffman was playing as the newest member of the legendary rock trio in his hometown when Les Claypool took a moment to inform the crowd of their new favorite example of Shreveport food. The Cotton Boll Grill was the local spot to have the honor of Les Claypool's endorsement.

Social Media Buzz and Local Pride
The Cotton Boll Grill was picked to do catering for the band that night, so there's a good chance one of Les Clapyool's first tastes of authentic Shreveport flavor was chicken & sausage gumbo, which would explain the support he gave for the eatery. Only further proving that the Cotton Boll earned its credit is the fact that Hoffer, according to Claypool, was the one to suggest the restaurant for catering.
The Cotton Boll shared a video on Facebook of the band giving their shoutout, and in about a day, the love poured in from the Shreveport community with hundreds of likes and comments on the post, with thousands of views. Anyone who followed the band on Facebook may have had a clue as to what was going down the day before the show when Cotton Bill Grill posted an ominous teaser on their page.

From Headbangers to Hot Plates
An unexpected and delightful pairing, this story proves that great food knows no bounds. Whether you're a fan of funky rock for classic Southern eats, the Cotton Boll Grill is now a must-try spot.
