Superman Is Coming To Geek’d Con In Shreveport
Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is heading back to Downtown Shreveport for year #8 at the Shreveport Convention Center. The event started back in 2015, and this looks like it might be the biggest EVER.
Since its start, Geek'd Con has been one of the premiere comic con style events in the state of Louisiana. The event has generated millions of dollars in economic impact to the Shreveport and Bossier City area. While also bringing in Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members, Star Wars icons, Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame members, and horror movie legends.
Tickets for this year are available here.
Coming to Geek'd Con 2023 is Superman himself, Brandon Routh.
Only 3 men have played Superman in major theatrical films...Christopher Reeve, Henry Cavill...and Brandon Routh. Only one of those three has also portrayed Superman on TV as well...Brandon Routh.
Routh burst into American pop culture history in 2006 when he premiered as Superman in the Warner Brothers relaunch of the film series, Superman Returns. The film acted as the final entry into the original Superman film series that was launched with Christopher Reeve in 1978.
He returned to the Man of Steel role inside the Arrowverse, when he took on the "Kingdom Come" Superman role in the CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths event.
Routh also appeared long-term in the Arrowverse as Ray Palmer, The Atom, in Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
You've also seen Routh in the films Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, 400 Days, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Table for Three, and Dylan Dog: Dead of Night.
He's been on TV in projects like Quantum Leap, Chuck, Partners, One Life to Live, and The Rookie.
Routh has also worked regularly with Magic The Gathering. You can hear his voice as Ral Zarek in the game Magic: The Gathering Arena, and he will be playing Gideon Jura in the upcoming Nexflix Magic The Gathering series.
