The Voice Of Mickey Mouse Is Coming To Shreveport
Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is coming back to Downtown Shreveport this August. The 2024 Geek'd Con will take place August 16th, 17th, and 18th, at the Shreveport Convention Center. This year, one of the most iconic voices on the planet will be joining the festivities in Shreveport.
Disney's official voice of Mickey Mouse, Bret Iwan, is coming to Geek'd Con this August!
Iwan was brought in to voice Mickey as the understudy with Wayne Allwine, the previous voice for Mickey. Iwan first assumed the role of Mickey Mouse in 2009, with Iwan's first recorded Mickey Mouse dialogue being used for the Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park as well as the 2009 shows Disney On Ice: Celebrations and Disney Live: Rockin' Road Show.
Just after he took over in 2009, Iwan has been the Official voice of Mickey in all ways, including in Disney Channel’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Have a Laugh!, Minnie's Bow-Toons, Mickey Mouse Funhouse, Mickey and the Roadster Racers, Mickey Mouse Mixed-Up Adventures, as well as films and video games.
Those video game appearances include the Kingdom Hearts and Epic Mickey series. His other video game appearances include Disney Infinity, Disney Dreamlight Valley, and Disney Speedstorm.
Before becoming the voice of Mickey, Iwan graduated from the Ringling College of Art and Design in Florida, and was an illustrator at Hallmark. Iwan is a very gifted artist, who not only can voice Mickey, but draw his extremely well...which you can see in various official Disney videos.
