It's been since 2014 since we've gotten a bite of True Blood but now, we have a spin-off to look forward to! Yes, the rumors are true!

The new series is set to return to HBO with Alan Ball, one of the original producers, involved. According to The Hollywood ReporterRiverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is leading the project which is reportedly in the early stages. So early in fact, that HBO has declined to comment.

The original. show lasted for seven seasons and launched in 2008 on HBO, quickly developing a cult-like following. While that's all we know right now, SQUEE!!! I can't wait to get another taste of True Blood!

Original Post from April 27, 2020:

Sam Trammell who played the role of Sam Merlotte in the original True Blood series says, 'Anything is possible.'

I'm not going to lie, I'm a fan of all things fantasy and vampire stories definitely fit into that category. True Blood remains one of my favorite shows of all time. I've even read the Southern Vampire Mystery series, also known as the Sookie Stackhouse books, by Charlaine Harris several times. Yes, all 13 books!

I've always loved the Shreveport connection to the True Blood story. After all, Fangtasia, the fictional vampire bar,  was located near Bon Temps, LA in the bustling metropolis of Shreveport right by the old South Park Mall! The locale is easy to explain because the author of the book series hails from Magnolia, AR. You write what you know, right? I always found it exciting that a lot of the exteriors were shot in Louisiana as well.

So, is there going to be a True Blood spinoff? Sam Trammell said, 'Anything's possible,' in a recent interview with PopCulture.com. That's enough to make any 'Fangbangers' heart go pitter-pat!

Trammell, a Louisiana native, hence, the only one with a believable southern accent,  went on to tell PopCulture.com:

As far as a revival, who knows? I think the biggest problem would be getting everybody back together because it's such an international cast. It's just all over the place and everybody's working so much. I loved working on the show, we all did — it was a really big part of all of our lives.

From what PopCulture.com says, the show is still a 'beast' when it comes to streaming. I know I've re-watched it several times. Does anyone else feel like it's time to start an online campaign to bring the show back? I know I do!

Let us know if you think True Blood is a series worth reviving in the comments section!
