Its that time of year where people look for haunted places and creepy stories. So we've tracked down several of the areas most popular urban legends. For decades Urban Legends have not only spread as camp fire stories but several have made blockbuster movies! We do not recommend going to any of these locations not only because they're on private property but because most are old rundown places which are unsafe to be in.

Phantom Killer

This is one of the most popular and well known Urban Legends from Texarkana that just so happens to be true! The story of the lovers who would park their car on a back road for a little alone time only to be killed by a strange masked man came to life back in 1946. Only one of his victims survived but despite her help and the Texas Rangers investigation the case remains unsolved to this day!

This story inspired 2 different movies decades apart called "The Town That Dreaded Sundown". Locals say before the events in 1946 Texarkana was a town where people would leave their doors unlocked but after the killings would avoid strangers and being outside at night!

Ellerbe Road School

Ellerbe Road School opened in the 1950's as a segregated school known then as George Washington Carver High. Stories tell about a janitor who molested the students for years before being caught and of a massive fire which killed several students. Historians agree while theres no evidence of either happening the stories could have been covered up at the time.

The urban legends around the school are more based on the evidence of satanic worship and activity surrounding the school grounds. Animal sacrifices have been seen several times around the school along with pentagrams and inverted pentagrams inside and outside.

The school while closed to the public is owned by the Caddo Parish School Board and anyone seen on the grounds will be taken into custody for trespassing.

C.E Byrd High School

There's several different stories about the origins of the urban legend but they all are connected with the schools basement. C.E. Byrd for decades has been Shreveport's largest high school and back in the 1930's and 1940's had an active basement which included a pool. The basement has since been closed but the stories still remain!

One of the main origins of the urban legend starts with a drowning in the pool but there's no evidence of this ever happening. The other story that does seem to have backing is around the old firing range used by the JROTC where the instructor is said to have committed suicide.

Several reports claim to have seen what looks like a man walking with a flashlight in the halls or coming from the basement. Most of the stories have been told by teachers who were at the school late at night or driving by.

Shreveport Municipal Auditorium

The Auditorium is said to be one of the most haunted places in Shreveport! Not many stories as to why this is but during the Louisiana Hayride days it's rumored that the building was also used as the city morgue.

Sightings have been seen all over the building by countless people. Some have even claimed to see Hank Williams walking the halls of the auditorium.

The Pea Farm

The Pea Farm is an old run down prison south of Shreveport which has been closed for years. The stories start after many killings of prisoners back in the 1930's and 1940's in the prison. The wife of the superintendent during the 1950's was said to have used the prisoners for her own "art" which many say was very dark.

Many who have visited the prison claim to have heard moans, yells, as well as seeing headless figures walking around the grounds. It's said when the superintendents name is said on the grounds activity always follows!
