The sudden announcement sent shockwaves through the Shreveport-Bossier community, especially as many customers still hold gift certificates and have pending dessert orders for upcoming celebrations. The post stated that the business was permanently closed, offering no further details on the reason for the abrupt shutdown or what customers with outstanding orders should do.
The closure is particularly surprising given Whisk Dessert Bar's recent grand reopening. The beloved bakery had just relocated from its original spot inside the Loosiana Food Market on Wallace Lake Road to a new location on Brookshire Drive.
Just a short time ago, they celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, expressing excitement to be "back in the kitchen and serving all of Shreveport/Bossier some delicious sweets!"
As of now, the reason for the sudden closure remains a mystery. The business's website is no longer active, and its social media pages appear to be slowly disappearing.
The last address listed for Whisk was 2090 Brookshire Arena Drive in Bossier City, a location that is also home to the Red River Billiards. Unfortunately, for now, the future of the business and the status of any pending orders or gift certificates remain unknown.
