Who Works Harder – Texas or Louisiana?
Wallet Hub has once again released their numbers on work in America in order to find the Hardest and Laziest states in the Union. The ranking is based on 10 metrics that delve into things like average workweek hours, employment rates, average volunteer hours per resident, and more. The data is then compiled, crunched, and analyzed to find which state holds it's nose to the grindstone the most.
First the laziest: Michigan. The 10th most populated state comes in dead last on this list, mostly because of the scores in the "Most leisure time per resident," and "Lowest workweek hours" categories. The hardest working state? That would be Alaska. The residents of the Last Frontier State work more per week and take off less for vacation every year than any other state in the US.
Now down to the nitty-gritty. Between Texas and Louisiana who is the hardest working? According to this study, it's the Lone Star State! Texas ranks as the 7th hardest working state, while Louisiana came in at a very respectable 18th place.
