The Creator Of X-Men Character Rogue Returns To Geek’d Con
Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, returns next month to Downtown Shreveport. The event will be held August 18-20 at the Shreveport Convention Center.
There will be hundreds of vendor booths, comic book artists, panels, LEGO demonstrations, and celebrity guests. If you've never been to a comic con style event before, think of it as a giant "meet and greet" event where you can shop from geeky vendors.
This year's Geek'd Con is highlighted by filmmaker Kevin Smith.
In addition to Kevin Smith, you can meet his co-stars from the View Askewneverse (what his series of movies are often called). He will be joined by Jason Mewes, Brian O'Halloran, Jeff Anderson, Joey Lauren Adams, Marilyn Ghigliotti, Harley Quinn Smith, Ming Chen, and in a very rare convention appearance, Kevin's wife Jennifer Schwalbach Smith.
But its not just a Kevin Smith event. You can meet Superman actor Brandon Routh too!
Plus Doctor Who actor John Barrowman, Star Wars actors Sam Witwer, Barry Lowin, Chris Bartlett, and Dorian Kingi, Olympic Gold Medalist and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, along with stars from Disney, Steven Universe, and more. You can see the full lineup here.
Celebrities come to these events to give fans an opportunity to purchase autographs and photo ops.
But the event will have more than movie and TV stars. Including and incredible lineup of comic book creator talent. Including guests who have been artists, writers, inkers, cover artists, and even editors. Guests who have created some of the most iconic characters, and moments, in comic book history.
One of those creators is Michael Golden, who has created some amazing covers for big titles, and also created one of the most well known comic book characters ever. Actually, he created a couple of big comic book names.
The biggest creation on Golden's resume is Rogue, the legendary X-Men character. But he also helped create Bucky O'Hare and The Micronauts.
