Hats off the men and women of the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office (CPSO) for taking nearly a quarter of a million dollars in illegal drugs off of the street this week.

After pulling a vehicle over for what they thought was a routine traffic stop, deputies with the CPSO allegedly discovered a sizable cache of drugs.  According to a report from KSLA, law enforcement officials with the CPSO arrested 54-year-old Hans Morris on Monday (April 11) after a search of his vehicle yielded the following:

  • 14.8 grams of methamphetamine
  • 17.2 grams of Xanax
  • 4 methamphetamine tablets
  • 0.4 grams of crack cocaine
  • 2 dextroamphetamine
  • 1.6 grams of marijuana

While that is a surprising amount of drugs to uncover during a traffic stop, it's only the tip of the iceberg.  A further investigation, officials asked for and received a search warrant for Morris' home where they found an incredible amount of drugs.  Reportedly, that search yielded the following:

  • 11,500 methamphetamine tablets
  • 2 pounds of methamphetamine
  • 2.5 ounces of powder cocaine
  • 475 grams of marijuana
  • 27 grams of Hydrocodone
  • 11 grams of crack cocaine
  • Packaging materials
  • Digital scale

That is a lot of drugs.  Authorities put the total street value of this contraband at a whopping $218,000!   Hans Morris is currently being held in the Caddo Correctional Center on several charges of possession with intent to distribute.
