Caddo Parish teachers and other school employees can continue to get incentive payments to get weekly COVID testing. And this program also includes students.

School administrators have sent out a reminder which says "the school phase starts over in January! Students, faculty, and staff it is not too late to sign up."

The program is administered by the Louisiana Department of Health who received a federal grant to fund this program in Louisiana.  LSU Health Shreveport was awarded the contract from LDH to administer testing in schools for Regions 5 ,6 ,7 and 8 covering 32 of Louisiana’s 64 parishes.  School testing is provided by the LSU Health Shreveport Center for Emerging Viral Threats Strike Team.

These weekly COVID-19 tests are provided at schools all across Caddo Parish and are fee. Parents do have to sign a consent form to allow students to be tested.

How Much Cash Can You Get?

Those who test weekly (at least 10 times) will get a gift card for at least $100 dollars. If you continue in the program through May of 2023, you can get another $100 incentive card.

Recent surveys show that over 90% of students, teachers and parents support testing. The data also shows that 70% of teachers and nearly 50% of parents feel confident of in-person teaching when testing programs are in place.

The notice from administrators says "the more you test, the more chance you have for more incentives."

These testing incentives are funded by the CDC.
