CDC Says Those Vaccinated Can Gather Without Masks
Rejoice! Normalcy may be on the horizon. What I would give for a $12 beer at a concert as I'm scream-singing along to my favorite band. What was once a distant memory may become a reality for those who get the eagerly waited vaccination. All of a sudden I am looking for the next concert at Brookshire's Grocery Arena. We need to break that concert venue in since it has a new name and has been empty for over a year now.
According to APnews.com, the CDC is giving those who have been fully vaccinated the green light to gather without the need for masks. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced a new guidance yesterday that has us feeling like they are playing red light green light. The CDC is saying if you're fully vaccinated you can ditch the mask in the comfort of your own home.
Keep in mind the green light is more of like a yellow light. Fully vaccinated persons can gather with other fully vaccinated people indoors. So you'll have to make sure your "pod" has been careful and they are all fully vaccinated.
What about a fully vaccinated person hanging out with someone who isn't vaccinated? The CDC is suggesting both parties wear masks. The example I saw being used was fully vaccinated grandparents visiting their healthy grandchildren, and one of the parties wearing a mask. So basically, both parties need to be vaccinated for the CDC to feel comfortable letting you go maskless.
What caught my eye in the first place was the whole no masks or social distancing needed. I want to go to a Dallas Mavericks game, I want to go see some of my favorite artists in concert without wearing a mask or social distancing. In order for us to be able to enjoy a good old-fashioned concert, every American will have to be vaccinated.
When will we get the green light for "normalcy" for real? I am talking sports games, concerts, huge weddings, parties of all kinds without being shamed?
