Why is the hashtag #ChickenWars trending on Twitter? Popeyes introduced its new chicken sandwich nationwide last week. What is crazy is that it received the highest of praises from chicken lovers all over the nation. Unfortunately, widespread praise is ruffling a lot of feathers in the chicken sandwich world.

Chic-fil-A started the #ChickenWars on Monday in a post reminding everyone that their chicken sandwich is “the original.” Popeyes came back at them with “... y’all good?" and the tweet has been liked more than 300,000 times.

Chicken lovers claim that unlike Chic-fil-A, Popeyes is actually open on Sundays and they aren't caught up in any political or religious expression. Wendy's couldn't pass up not being a part of the Chicken Wars, they tweeted  “Y’all out here fighting about which of these fools has the second-best chicken sandwich,”

Popeyes replied with “Sounds like someone just ate one of our biscuits. Cause y’all looking thirsty,” All this made me think Popeyes was the real deal. I was super excited to try the new sandwich.

I pulled up to Popeyes in Bossier, and I had my heart shattered. You can watch the video below. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Dear Popeyes,

You let me down. I am hurt, I am disappointed and because of you, I had to go home and eat a salad. Quit lying to people telling them you have a delicious sandwich that isn't even in the Ark-La-Tex yet. To Chic-fil-A, baby, I am so sorry I ever thought about cheating on you. I was hungry and tired after an intense workout and it was simply a moment of weakness. It won't ever happen again.

Love,

Chica
