Benton Man Arrested in Indiana for Sex Crimes With Children
In what has become an incredibly horrific infection in Shreveport/Bossier, and the entire country for that matter, another man has been arrested on charges involving sex with children.
Denton Stanley, 48, of Benton, has been arrested and charged with a number of sex crimes involving juveniles. Even more concerning in this case, is that this could just be the tip of the iceberg and there could be even more victims and more charges as this case progresses.
In a statement from Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington, we learn that Stanley was arrested by Federal Marshals in Indiana on a warrant from Bossier Parish. He was extradited to Bossier Parish on Dec. 21, 2021, and arrested by Bossier Sheriff’s Office detectives and charged with one count of Aggravated Crimes Against Nature, three counts of Molestation of a Juvenile or a Person with a Physical or Mental Infirmity, and one count of First Degree Rape-Victim Under 13 Years of Age.
Detectives say there may be other victims. Anyone who feels they have been a victim or has information about any sexual crime involving Stanley, or any other person, is encouraged to contact Bossier Sheriff’s Office detectives at (318) 965-3418 or (318) 965-2203.
Sheriff Whittington wants to also emphasize that the time limit for reporting sexual crimes is lengthy, and he encourages victims to come forward, even if the crime occurred five, 10, or even more than 20 years ago. The statute of limitations is 30 years after the victim turns 18 years of age.
Stanley’s bond has been set at $425,000. He is currently booked into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility.
