Today, Governor John Bel Edwards extended Louisiana's 'Stay at Home' order until May 15th. The Governor's reasoning behind the extension is to address case spikes in areas like Baton Rouge and Monroe.

However, some things will be changing May 1st. Edwards will be lifting a few restrictions by allowing curbside retail and outside dining at restaurants in cities that will allow it. Edwards, however, will be mandating that employees at businesses that interact with the public wear masks and facial coverings. Crowd sizes at businesses will also still be limited to 10 people.

Edwards says that barring any setbacks or unforeseen circumstances that Phase 1 of re-opening will begin May 16th. Edwards will provide another update about whether or not we'll begin Phase 1 on May 11th.

Phase 1 will allow the return of barbers, nail salons, dine-in eating and church services as long as the businesses operate at 25% occupancy. Bars will remain closed through Phase 1. A decision has not been made public on tattoo parlors, gyms and other kinds of businesses.
