Information About The Coronavirus And How To Help Prevent The Spread
Today I had the pleasure of speaking with Trudy Wright, the director of Quality at the Southwest Louisiana Center For Health Services and we talked about coronavirus and other things of importance pertaining to this virus and others.
Coronavirus was coined due to the crown shape appearance of the virus. The first outbreak was identified in Wuhan, China. The symptoms being reported with the virus include mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, cough, and difficulty breathing.
If a person feels like they should be tested, what should they do? Call your healthcare professional if you feel sick with any of these symptoms mentioned above, especially if you feel like you've been in contact with anyone who might have the virus. Your healthcare provider will work with the state's public health department and the CDC to determine if they need to be tested for the virus.
There are currently no reported cases in the state of Louisiana. However, there have been some reported in Washington, California, Texas, Massachusetts, New York, Illinois, Wisconsin, Arizona, Utah, New Hampshire, Georgia, Florida, North Caroline, and New Jersey.
