Louisiana is Officially the Most Stressed State in America
Sounds like the Bayou State could use a spa day... a long spa day.
How are you feeling today? Are you stressed? Nagging tasks, strained relationships, lingering debt can all contribute to stress levels. If we can't find a healthy way to deal with that stress, it can affect our health. I'm an advocate for finding ways to decompress, whether it's beating a punching bag at the gym or taking a long bubble bath, find what works for you to limit your stress.
Especially in the state of Louisiana which has been named the most stressed state in the United States.
This is according to a study done by WalletHub looking at each state across the country and compiled into a list of 2018's Most & Least Stressed States. To determine which places were the most and least stressed they looked at key contributing factors like work, money, family and relationships, and health and safety. Louisiana is a top 10 contender in each of those categories, which adds up to the highest level of stress among residents.
Louisiana has one of the highest average of work hours per week and some of the lowest average credit scores across the country. Couple that with some of the highest levels of poverty, divorce rates and crime rate per Capita. In addition, Louisiana's psychologist numbers per Capita is one of the fewest in America.
