Undefeated! LSUS Pilots Shatter College Baseball History with 58th Straight Win
Stop me if you've heard this one before: The Pilots of LSU Shreveport have shocked the baseball world by breaking another record. The Pilots baseball team is now 58-0, setting the all-time record for any college team at any level for most consecutive wins.
Not only is that win significant because of the history they've made, but it also puts them firmly in the driver seat to win the first NAIA World Series in team history.
LSU Shreveport Makes History With Victory Over the Defending Champs
Let's not bury the lead here, the Pilots absolutely dominated the defending NAIA World Series Champions Hope International 14-4 on Thursday night. Jose Sallorin knocked in 2 runs in the 2nd inning and never looked back. In the 3rd inning, they added on 5 runs.

Overall, the Pilots collected 15 hits including a big 3 hit, 4 RBI night from right fielder Ryan Davenport. The Pilots pushed across 14 runs with only having 2 extra base hits the entire game - doubles from Josh Gibson and Anthony Swenda.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - the things that makes this team so dangerous and so hard to beat is that they win any type of game. In a slugfest? They hit can hit with the best of them. Pitchers duel? They got the arms to get the job done. The can play small ball, they can play for the big inning...they can find a way to win in any kind of game.
I'm a dedicated seamhead. I LOVE baseball. I watch MLB. I watch college baseball. I watch minor league baseball. When I went to LSUS, I covered the Pilots baseball team. In all my years of being a dedicated baseball fan, at any level, I've never seen a team as complete or as dominant as this one.
It's incredible. The next stop for the Pilots - the NAIA Championship game.

LSUS is One Win From Perfection and a National Championship
The Pilots are one win away from perfection and winning the Red Banner (which is what they call the NAIA World Series Championship). On Friday May 30th, the Pilots will have a rematch with Southeastern University at 8:30 PM.
If you recall, the Pilots blanked Southeastern a couple nights ago 10-0 in a 7-inning affair.
I can not stress this enough - seasons like this don't come along very often. Pitchers can't find their stuff, the team gets bit by the injury bug, bats go cold...a million things can happen that prevent seasons like this from happening. Yet, here we are.
The Pilots are undefeated and in pursuit of perfection. One win from glory and hoisting the Red Banner as NAIA World Series Champions.
Want to watch the game? You can stream it on the NAIA website here. Want to support the LSUS Pilots? You can donate to the LSUS Foundation here or buy some merch from their online store.
I know I'll be watching this evening and pulling for the Pilots.
