White House Bound? LSUS Pilots Celebrate Historic National Championship in Shreveport
Shreveport's Festival Plaza was absolutely buzzing with Pilot Pride on Monday as residents gathered for a special community celebration honoring the LSU Shreveport Pilots baseball team. The festivities kicked off at 11:30 a.m., with both the Mayors of Shreveport and Bossier in attendance. Even Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, joined in by phone to congratulate the team and extend an invitation to the White House.
Why Did the Pilots Get Invited to the White House?
The LSUS Pilots are history makers. Although the team had already broken a record before Friday’s NAIA World Series matchup, the team was eager to continue to make history and defeated Southeastern, Florida, 13 to 7, and won the 2025 Avista NAIA Baseball World Series. This is the first time in LSUS Pilots' history to win a national championship. The astonishing 59-0 season is officially the longest win streak in College baseball history.
Have you spotted the Shreveport baseball team all over the news? From The New York Times to ESPN, it feels like everyone is celebrating perfection, and that 59-0 record is prrof that hard work and dedication can get you perfection.

Pilot Fans Lined Up to Get Autographs From the Entire Team
Fans from all over came to meet the team and congratulate them. You can see photos from the event below. What we loved to see was how excited the community was to be part of this, but also the players were so kind, and they took photos with all the fans. The best part was that the players stayed until every single fan got an autograph.
