New After School Program Will Teach Shreveport Kids to Code
There are tons of after school programs for kids. From Karate to scouts, soccer to horse riding, archery, and art - there's lots of ways to get kids interested in something outside of school for fun and friends. But, will the fun activity you take them to every week benefit them later in life? The answers is sometimes, but not always - and that's ok. Without a doubt, the latest after-school program set to open in Shreveport definitely fits that description. Code Ninjas is set to open it's East 70th location next to Play It Again Sports this month, and I couldn't be more excited!
In case you didn't know, the term "coding," is a generic catch-all phrase for computer programming. If you understand it, you understand how to make a computer do your bidding. Code Ninjas is very sneaky about this stealth learning, too. They use popular games like Minecraft and Roblox to teach kids how to speak computer and to reinforce the extremely important STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) lessons. Plus, they will help your kids with after-school homework!
My 9 year old Deacon will love this! He just got his first laptop this Christmas, and is already trying to figure out how to hack into it! If you are looking for an after school activity that will give your kids a leg up in the world to come - I would definately check out Code Ninjas.
