Shreveport’s Best-Kept Secret? This Bar Is Serving One of the Best Steaks in Town
Did you know a local bar is secretly a culinary destination? One of the best things about Shreveport-Bossier is discovering hidden gems, and I've found one that's serving one of the best steaks in town, once a week.
Tucked away in the Red River District, Fatty Arbuckle's is one of Downtown Shreveport's oldest lounges and a true institution. While they’re famous for their incredible live entertainment and their jaw-dropping selection of over 200 whiskeys (including hard-to-find bottles like Pappy Van Winkle and E.H. Taylor), they have a secret specialty that has locals buzzing: steak night.

When my friends and I finally sat down for our first Fatty's steak experience, I ordered a perfectly aged Old Fashioned, the ideal partner for a big, juicy ribeye. The most difficult decision of the night wasn't whether the steak would be good; it was wondering which whiskey to pair with it.
We tried both the ribeye and the filet, and they did not disappoint. In fact, it was one of the best steak dinners we’ve had in town. The simple sides of potato and broccolini were just as delicious, leaving me to ask the biggest question of all: how is this bar pulling off a steak dinner of this incredible quality?
I still don't have the answer, but I know where I'll be every Monday night when steak service starts at 5:00 PM. If you want to check it out for yourself, you can find them at 450 Clyde Fant Pkwy, Shreveport, LA 71101.
