I am on day 2 of a ketogenic diet and let me tell you, I feel like a bottomless pit. I'll eat and feel full but an hour passes by and all of a sudden I'm like Winnie the Pooh looking for some honey. There are many people who stick to extremely strict diets and I don't know how they pull it off. I remember walking in on the owner of 360 Fitness on his cheat day and I was mortified. How can one person eat so much in one day? Homeboy always makes up for his cravings once a week and the amount he can put back is astounding.

We have heard about The Rock's insane cheat days where he consumes over 6,000 calories and sips on tequila all day long. Turns out the owner of the popular gym I used to visit and the Rock have known a big secret all along.

A new study has come out claiming that you can increase your calorie intake dramatically for a cheat day and it won't cause you long-term health problems. The study claims that our bodies can process a pig out day where your calorie intake skyrockets as you don't make a habit out of it.

According to University of BATH "Our findings show the body actually copes remarkably well when faced with a massive and sudden calorie excess. Healthy humans can eat twice as much as 'full' and deal effectively with this huge initial energy surplus."

Our bodies can even handle the extra sugar and excess fat and by using it efficiently instead of causing weight gain. However, the study kept stressing the fact that if we go food crazy often the overeating will in fact add more stored energy into our bodies in the form of fat which no one wants.

Turns out a cheat meal a week or a cheat day for those dedicated in the gym won't hurt your health goals, just be careful with that fork and overeating often.
