Some parents are finding it hard to explain what the coronavirus is to their kids and why everyone needs to shelter in place.

There is now a charming kids' book available to help you out. It's called, "Why We Stay at Home", written by Samantha Harris and Devon Scott.

I first came to know of this book through one of the many Facebook groups I'm in, and when I found out that it was a free download, I immediately told my 9-year-old daughter, Willow.

I asked Willow if she wanted me to download the book for her, and I showed her the picture of the cover of the book.

"Isn't it adorable?" I asked her.

"Yes!"

"Do you want me to get it for you? I can download it to your phone," I inquired.

"Yes!" Willow smiled.

That's when I went to MillieAndSuzie.com, entered my email address, and then clicked on the "Download" button. The book came up right away as a PDF file.

Willow says she loves this book. I asked her what her favorite part of the book is and she said, "When they give each other a hug at the end."

Hugs. Hugs are something that I used to give freely to almost everybody. It's part of my DNA to give people hugs. I was raised in the South and giving people hugs is something that is practically taught from birth. Giving out hugs beyond immediate family members is something we won't be able to give for the foreseeable future. And that makes my heart very sad.

Sorry to get all Debbie Downer on you! We are each taking this COVID-19 lockdown mood swings as it comes in waves. The point of my story is to say that this book is TOO CUTE! It managed to get even finicky Willow's stamp of approval.

((hugs))
