LSUS Pilots Dominate Southeastern, Extend Streak to 57
The LSU-Shreveport Pilots are having the type of season most baseball teams can only dream of. They're currently 57-0 and two wins away from winning the first College World Series in program history. Earlier in the season, the Pilots broke a 25 year old record for the most consecutive for any 4 year school. Now, they've tied the record for the longest win streak by any school at any level.
This is the type of season you only see in video games and dreams.
LSUS Dominate Again, 2 Wins Away From National Championship
If you haven't seen any of the highlights yet, here's the breakdown of LSUS' dominating, record tying performance over Southeastern University. The Pilots won 10-0.

First off, Senior starter Isaac Rohde fired off an absolute gem. Rohde went the full 7 innings with 10 strikeouts (the game was called after 7 due to NAIA's 10-run rule). Offensively, the studs came to play. Josh Gibson had an RBI double, Anthony Swenda hit a bomb. Ryan Davenport had 2 extra base hits. Vantrel Reed had an RBI single. Gibson, Reed, Syring, and Swenda all stole a base in the ball game.
Overall, the box score looks exactly like you'd expect. The Pilots had 9 hits, 5 walks, 10 RBIs and only left 4 on base. Southeastern only managed 4 hits, no walks and stranded all 4 runners.

How Can LSUS Win The National Championship?
The Pilots sort of control their own destiny at this point. They're the only undefeated team left in the tournament. Which means they can lose and still get to the Championship game.
So here's the breakdown of scenarios:
- Win Thursday & Friday, and they're champions
- If they lose tonight, the winner of Southeastern-Georgia Gwinnett moves to the championship game. LSUS would have to play Hope International to win their way to a winner take all championship matchup on Sunday.
- If LSUS wins Thursday, but loses Friday, they would have another crack at winning the Championship on Sunday.
It's a double elimination tournament and LSUS holds all the cards, so to speak. The thing unsaid in the championship scenarios - if LSUS wins Thursday, not only do they advance to the championship game, but they'll also break the all-time college win streak record.
Currently, they're tied with Howard College at 57 wins. Another win and they'll shatter that record that was set back in 2007.
