Thank You to This Dallas Bar for Setting the Bar Very High
I go out often. Over the summer I went out just about every weekend. Although most of my weekends out and about were spent on a boat, I did sneak into some local bars and nightclubs. I've been out all over the Ark-La-Tex and I have never once stumbled upon a sign that asked me if I felt safe.
This past weekend I went to Dallas because my best friend is officially a Family Nurse Practitioner and we celebrated her graduation. The night of the big ceremony, we decided to go out for drinks and we ended up in downtown Dallas. We discovered a bar called Jaxon, the drinks were wonderful and the overall vibe was awesome.
When I Went to the Bathroom I Saw a Sign That Stopped Me in My Tracks
"Don't feel safe?" caught my eye. Every single stall door on the outside and inside had a sign giving you direction if you felt like you weren't safe.
What did the sign tell you to do? "Approach a member of staff and 'ask for Patty." When you ask for Patty a staff member is alerted that you are feeling unsafe. You could be there with an abusive ex-partner or you could be there with someone who isn't who they said they were.
This Needs to Be Something Bars in Shreveport-Bossier Do
How great would it be to know that you can choose to meet at any bar around town and you will always feel safe? Would it make you feel more comfortable going out around town?
