Do you recall those elementary school days when square dancing was part of gym class? Many of us, no matter where we grew up, likely experienced the unique joy of learning those lively steps. If watching folks line dance and square dance at Bossier's Big Country gives you serious FOMO, get ready: there's an exciting convention heading to town that you'll definitely want to be a part of.

The Shreveport Convention Center Will Come Alive With Dancers From All Over America

The National Square Dance Convention chose Shreveport as the hot spot to bring together square dancers from all over the U.S. and the best part is that the event is open to the community for you to enjoy the performances throughout the day. Can you believe this epic party has been going on for the last 73 years? You don't have to belong to a certain dance crew, if you're curious about joining a local dance crew, chances are you will meet them at the convention.

The 74th National Square Dance Convention will take over Shreveport from June 25th through June 28th. You must be registered to participate; however, if you want to go cheer on these wonderful dancers, which they would love, it's free to attend.

Prepare to be overwhelmed with events to attend. The convention will take four days because there is so much to do, it isn't just square dancing and line dancing that you can watch, there will be clogging performances and several speakers sharing their wonderful dancing journeys. You can look through all of the events, social mixers, dancing and performing schedules, and the layout of the convention center by visiting the National Square Dance Convention website.
