One of the most fun dinners of Shreveport is making its grand return to Sam's Town Hotel & Casino. Last year, The Norwela Council, Scouting America, held a Celebrity Waiter Dinner, which was huge fun for the community. This dinner is different, you have local "celebrities" throw aprons on and they try to be the best servers they can be and collect as much tips as possible to turn around and donate their earnings to The Norwela Council Scouting America.

Last year, celebrities like Shreveport Fire Chief Clarence Reese, Executive Chef Megan Chavez, and Susan Kirton waited on diners who showed up to support our local Boy Scouts. There were over 15 local "celebrities" who showed up to try and win bragging rights for most money raised. Is your favorite celebrity waiting on your table? Rumor has it you can send out a request for your favorite waiter.

The Celebrity Waiter Dinner will be held at Sam's Town Casino on Thursday, March 27th, at 6:45 p.m. The doors will open at 5:45 p.m. for social hour. You don't want to miss the social hour; I think it is the most fun part of the event.

Why is this event so important for our community? The event raises awareness and support for the Norwela Council Scouting programs, and the night will be special with the Norwela Council honoring three locals with "Distinguished Citizens
Awards" for their dedication, leadership, and service to the community. This year’s honorees include: Erica Bryant, Parish of Caddo, Dr. Christopher Holoman, Centenary College of Louisiana, and Vince Maggio, Maggio’s Grocery & Deli/Bossier City Council.
