Shreveport’s 318 Day: Shop Local, Celebrate Community
318 Day is the unofficial holiday of Shreveport. 318 happens to be the area code for Shreveport, and like we love to do, we took March 18th and have made it a big deal.
We like to use March 18th to remember the goodness in our community. So many events took over Shreveport this past weekend specifically celebrating food and live music, if you ask us, that is the best way to celebrate anything. 318 Food Fest took over the Shreveport Municipal on Sunday and according to several attendees that was the place to be, there were countless food vendors and entertainment for the entire family. 318 Day Festival took over Caddo Common Park and they had live bands, local artists, vendors and food trucks.
How Should You Celebrate 318 Day in Shreveport?
We think you should keep it simple. Go support a local mom and pop business, whether it's a great spot to eat or maybe even pull the trigger on a purchase at a local store. Have you had your eye on some local art? Maybe there is an outfit that has been calling your name, make today the day that you shop local. Why not take today to support all the local businesses that are showing up every single day to try and make our community a great place to live.
We have so many places that are perfect places to celebrate 318 Day, the only question we have is where and how you plan to celebrate 318 Day.
