You Can Stay at the Epic Hose Tower in Shreveport
When Is the Last Time You Got Away From Shreveport to Shreveport?
I had heard a rumor that you could rent out the old fire station in Shreveport, but I figured it was pretty hard to score a stay there. Where was it anyway? Turns out you can rent out the hose tower in downtown Shreveport.
The Central Fire Station Was Built in 1922.
A 5-story hose tower was built next to the central fire building to hang up the old canvas hoses. Unfortunately, an arsonist caused a fire that devasted the entire building but it was the beginning of an epic renovation. The Shreveport Regional Arts Council renovated the entire place and that is when the hose tower was converted into a one-of-a-kind apartment.
You Can Rent Out the Hose Tower for Yourself for a Fun Night or the Week.
What can you expect from the epic firehouse? Here is what the listing on Airbnb says: "Our Historic Firehouse Tower originally built in 1922 as the Hose Tower for the Downtown Central Fire Station was renovated into a 5-story apartment. Modern/Industrial style with original exposed brick and colorful, bold accents. Rooftop access where you can enjoy a view of downtown and public art installations, and a beautiful view of the new Caddo Common - an urban green space located directly next door. Shreveport Municipal Auditorium is 1 block away and Strand Theatre is down the street."
