Cruising on a Bike to Fight Corona Blues

One of my favorite places in the world is Rosemary Beach. It’s a beautiful beach town in Florida that has more beach cruisers than cars. It’s the place where we all use our bikes to get around, and I’m always happiest when I’m there. Trying to buy a bike in the SBC right now is so difficult. Every big retailer is out or they just don’t have them out on the floor. I have called so many businesses and they said that what they have on the floor is all they have. If you think that a bike isn’t essential. I totally get it. However. I desperately need to feel that “I’m on top of the world” feeling that a bicycle ride can give you. So, naturally, I got jealous when I saw kids in my neighborhood enjoying their bicycles. That kicked off my bike quest

I don’t think Bikes Etc knows how much they truly made my day when I found out they were open (by appointment only) and were able to make my bike dream come true. For the past two days, I’ve been excited to hit the streets on my bicycle. Yes. I realize my neighbors all probably think I’m weird and have nothing better to do, which is very much true. However, my anxiety has gone down dramatically and I feel like a kid again.

Why am I sharing this with you? Gyms are closed. We are all feeling a little down. We can all use a little piece of sunshine that makes us feel like a kid again. If you have a bicycle go out and ride. If you don’t borrow one from a friend, or buy one. I’m going to get on my bicycle every single day until this Shelter in Place Order is lifted. I’m going to keep finding ways to feel happy. I hope you do too!
