I had way too many questions when it came to getting the COVID-19 vaccine. I hate needles, however, I am determined to never get COVID-19 again. I have been keeping an eye on the COVID-19 vaccination locations and I signed up online to get my first shot.

I went to the Louisiana State Fairgrounds and went through the line that moved faster than the line at the Chick-fil-A drive-through. Nope, not making this up, It took me maybe 7 minutes from the time I pulled into the parking lot to the time I got my shot. Of course, I pre-registered online and they just looked me in their system up once I pulled in.

Make sure you take your I.D. and your insurance card with you as they will need all that info to confirm you are who you say you are. The best part about getting the shot is that you don't even have to get out of your car. Am I lazy for seeing that as the biggest perk?

The good news for me is that I can finally visit with my dad without worry. My dad got his second shot not long ago and for our family, this means the world to us. My dad's health has been on a rapid decline and I am so grateful that this peace of mind vaccine exists. So many people have asked me why I got the shot, in short, I did it for my dad.

I wanted to share my experience with you because it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, I'm talking about the process of course. I hope this brings you some comfort knowing someone like me was able to figure out the whole vaccine situation.

If you want to go to the fairgrounds to get your shot. Just click here to register. You can get your vaccine on Monday or Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
