While Shreveport celebrates a season of weddings, one local couple is making hearts (and stomachs) flutter with engagement photos that are anything but traditional, captured in the iconic glow of a Waffle House. One thing that is so wonderful about engagement photo sessions is when a creative photographer meets a fun couple, that is exactly what happened, and how we ended up with engagement photos in a Waffle House.

Meet Mallory and Devin: Their Romance Started at Waffle House

Meet Mallory and Devin, the happy couple plan to get married in November. Instead of taking their engagement photos in a picturesque landscape or where they plan to get married, they decided to go to where their love first started blooming. Forget candlelit dinners; for Devin, the most romantic spot in town was undeniably the local Waffle House, the place where his and Mallory's love story first began to sizzle.

From IHOP to "Hooked": Mallory's Waffle House Conversion

According to the bride-to-be, Mallory, she was always an IHOP girl until Devin changed her life. "One night, we were trying to figure out somewhere to eat dinner, and he wanted breakfast, so he suggested Waffle House. From then on, I was hooked. We go all the time now, and we both order the same thing every time. Devin starts with a cup of coffee (no matter the time of day), along with a chocolate milk to come with his all-star special."

The "Act of Love": Sharing Meals and Waffles at Their Favorite Spot

There is an act of love when this couple eats at Waffle House. If you share food, it's true love, right? Mallory added, "I somehow can never not order the patty melt. So Devin ends up giving me a bite of his waffle every single time so I can have the best of both worlds."

Their Waffle House connection wasn't just a one-time thing. Their planned celebratory dinner also took an unexpected turn. Mallory and Devin had planned to go to a nice dinner to celebrate their engagement, but they ended up at Waffle House instead. Do you see the trend here?

Photographer Brings Their Waffle House Vision to Life

The couple wanted to have engagement photos that told their story, so they hired Kaitlyn Haley Photography to bring their idea to life. The photographer understood the assignment and even set everything up for them. Did the couple make it to the fancy dinner planned after their engagement photo shoot? Nope, you guessed it, they stayed and ate at Waffle House in their fancy clothes. This delightfully unconventional engagement shoot is certainly a Shreveport love story worth remembering.
